Revolutionizing Marine Metal Surface COATINGS
An old unresolved industrial issue
The combination of two innovative technologies
A breakthrough solution for multiple applications
Harshlab by Tecnalia.
In just a few hours, we can apply our laser-based vitrified coating across hundreds of square meters — delivering unmatched durability in record time.
This unique single-layer solution not only simplifies surface protection but also drives major efficiency gains:
- Dramatically reduced lead times in manufacturing.
- Lower working capital needs through faster production cycles.
- Superior protection with minimal maintenance over the lifecycle.
One layer. Hours, not weeks. Hundreds of square meters protected.
The smarter way to build offshore structures and ship hulls.
Benefits to the end-users
Reduces CAPEX by expanding productlifespan
Reduces OPEX on expensive maintenanceprograms
Improves productivity for better operational outcomes
Improves environmental footprint

FUNCIONAL PROPERTIES
EU Patent submitted to protect the application process
Today
- 25 years of expected lifetime
- Loss of thickness due to erosion and lixiviation =CONTAMINATION
- Not easy to eliminate adhered biofouling
- Need to employ sacrificial anodes or printed circuits to avoid galvanic corrosion
- NEED TO DESING CORROSION ALLOWANCE EXTRA THICKHNESS to secure lifetime
Lasercoat
- Unlimited years with very little maintenance….expected >40 but to be demonstrated
- Innert to Sun Rays and seawater resisting thermal variations from -145°C to +500°C
- Easy to be monitored by ultrasonic tests from the dry side
- Very easy to eliminate biofouling with water jet if required (2800 bar jet at 20 cm distance successfully tested with no damage on the coating
- NO NEED OF GALVANIC PROTECTION if coated both sides of the monopile
- NO CONTAMINATION ( even if destroyed the ceramic is INERT as the natural sand of its composition)
- MUCH LONGER LIFE EXPECTED AND VERY PROBABLE REDUCTION OF CORROSION ALLOWANCE MATERIAL THICKNESS
- LOWER OPEX and CAPEX
